In a strategic enhancement of its leadership team, Yorkshire-based technology firm SmartSearch has recently announced key appointments to drive growth and innovation. The company, renowned for its expertise in digital compliance and anti-money laundering software, has recruited a new CEO, Chief Technology Officer, Chief Revenue Officer, Chief Product Officer, and Chief Transformation Officer to spearhead its mission forward.
Following a significant majority stake acquisition by Triple Private Equity in March, SmartSearch appointed Phil Cotter as CEO. Cotter is now joined by Stuart Morris as the Chief Technology Officer, Paul Eddie as Chief Revenue Officer, and Fraser Mitchell transitioning to Chief Product Officer from his previous Technical Director role. Collette Allen ascends to Chief Transformation Officer from her position as Chief Operating Officer, indicating a reshuffle aimed at enhanced strategic direction.
Stuart Morris has emphasised the challenges faced in the industry, stating, “Keeping pace with the advanced technology used by today’s financial criminals is a pressing challenge for organisations in regulated industries.” Morris pointed out the dual necessity of implementing effective checks to combat fraudsters while ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements—a domain where SmartSearch is dedicated to supporting businesses effectively. It is, according to Morris, “an exciting time to be part of this journey” at SmartSearch.
The new executive leadership is tasked with accelerating innovation in combating financial crime, a mission underscored by CEO Phil Cotter. “These strategic appointments mark a pivotal moment for SmartSearch, significantly bolstering its leadership capabilities,” Cotter remarked. With experienced leaders such as Stuart Morris and Paul Eddie, alongside strategic role transitions for Fraser Mitchell and Collette Allen, SmartSearch is fortifying its position in the complex regulatory environment, aiming to maintain its lead against global money laundering and fraud.
The strategic leadership enhancements position SmartSearch to improve innovation and combat global financial crime effectively.
