Asda, in a strategic move to meet its ambitious growth objectives for 2025, has announced the recruitment of two seasoned professionals to its leadership team. By strengthening its managerial capabilities, the company aims to reinforce its market position.
Lauren Lepley, a former Morrisons vice president of central operations, will commence her role with Asda early December. With over 14 years of experience in the grocery sector, including critical roles at both Tesco and Morrisons, she brings a wealth of expertise. Her extensive background in leading operational strategies is expected to drive Asda’s forward momentum effectively.
Mark Henry, who has 25 years of operational experience and previously served as group director of asset protection at Marks & Spencer, will take up the position of Vice President Retail South in January. His responsibilities will focus on overseeing the operations of Asda’s southern stores, ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction.
Both Lauren Lepley and Mark Henry will report directly to Matt Heslop, the newly appointed Chief Operations Officer. His leadership is anticipated to unify Asda’s strategic initiatives across various fronts, fostering an environment conducive to growth and innovation.
Lord Rose, Asda’s chairman, expressed strong confidence in the capabilities of the new hires. He remarked on their remarkable track records in delivering operational excellence and underscored the critical role they will play in realising Asda’s long-term growth plans.
With these expert appointments, Asda is well-positioned to achieve its strategic goals in the coming years.
