In a strategic move to bolster its leadership, Bestway Retail has made significant additions to its senior team, drawing experienced professionals from Morrisons and Spar.
Bestway Retail, a significant player in the wholesale market with brands such as Best-one, Costcutter, Bargain Booze, and Wine Rack under its wing, is poised for growth with the reappointment of key personnel. Nick Russell returns to the fold as head of symbol, bringing his expertise from a previous tenure at Costcutter and later roles at Morrisons Daily where he was integral in the independent franchise and new business sectors. His leadership will now guide the independent Best-one and Costcutter estates, reinforcing the company’s commitment to independent retail.
Steve Moore also makes his return to Bestway, transitioning from his role at Parfett’s where he was head of retail. He will take on the position of regional controller for Costcutter and Best-one from January 2025, overseeing operations in the Midlands and South Wales. Moore’s extensive experience will be instrumental in leading the sales and support teams, essential for the company’s development plans.
Further strengthening the team, Rodney Tucker reenters the company in the new business and acquisitions team. Previously, he held regional management roles within Costcutter and Best-One and most recently led the new business function at Spar Appleby Westward as sales director. In his new capacity, Tucker will focus on recruiting new business in the Southwest and South Wales regions, aiming to drive organizational growth.
Bestway Retail’s director, Jamie Davison, expressed enthusiasm about these strategic hires, stating, “We are delighted to welcome back the very talented Nick, Rodney, and Steve to their new roles within the business. They bring with them valuable expertise, knowledge, and sector understanding that will support our growth plans and the service we offer our valued retailers.”
These appointments signal a forward-thinking approach by Bestway Retail, underlining its ambition to enhance its market position through seasoned leadership and strategic planning.
