Boots has unveiled its latest festive campaign, ‘The Christmas Makeover’, featuring Adjoa Andoh, an actress renowned for her role in the popular series ‘Bridgerton’. This campaign aims to highlight the enchantment of beauty during the holiday season, with Andoh taking on the role of Mrs Claus.
In the advertisement, Mrs Claus leads a team of beauty elves in a workshop dedicated to festive preparations. The scene unfolds with her adding a touch of No7 lipstick, accompanied by an instrumental version of ‘Who’s that Girl?’ by Eve, showcasing her transition into a vibrant Christmas leader while Santa remains asleep by the fireplace.
The elves are seen assembling a selection of sought-after beauty gifts. These range from brands such as Bubble Skincare, e.l.f, Sol de Janeiro, and Laneige, emphasising the availability of beauty gifts for all preferences. The diversity of styles among the elves indicates the broad spectrum of beauty options available.
The ad culminates with Mrs Claus, satisfied with her efforts, quipping, ‘You thought it was all him?’, acknowledging the often unseen contributors to the holiday magic. This reflects the campaign’s goal to celebrate those who add a touch of wonder to the festive period.
As the holiday season approaches, Boots has positioned itself for a robust Black Friday event. Over 22,000 promotions are planned throughout November. Pete Markey, Boots’ chief marketing officer, remarked on the campaign’s intention to inspire beauty enthusiasts, nodding to the retailer’s expanded range, which now includes 55 new beauty brands such as Prada Beauty and Made by Mitchell.
This campaign highlights Boots’ commitment to blending tradition with modern beauty trends for the festive season.
