Birmingham city centre is witnessing a significant transformation with the renovation of two iconic office buildings, 2 Colmore Square and Cannon House, into a new destination dubbed ‘Multistory’. Situated in the bustling Priory Queensway area, these buildings are set to offer state-of-the-art facilities and a revitalised urban experience.
The renovation project aims to create 75,000 sq ft of new grade A office space, providing businesses with a contemporary and comfortable working environment. An additional 15,000 sq ft is allocated for amenity spaces, ensuring that both tenants and visitors have access to versatile facilities.
A key highlight of this development is the revamped entrance from Colmore Square, which will feature an elegantly designed reception area complete with quiet work zones. This area is intended to cater to those seeking a calm workspace away from the usual hustle and bustle.
In addition to a main arrival area, the site will boast a multifunctional reception off The Old Square. This space will include informal seating and meeting areas, conducive to dynamic business interactions and social gatherings.
The array of planned amenities is impressive. Tenants can utilise co-working spaces, bookable meeting rooms, and a fully equipped auditorium accommodating up to 100 people. The development also includes a 2,000 sq ft outdoor terrace and a community bar, offering a perfect setting for relaxation and networking.
There is also a focus on sustainability and convenience in the transport facilities. The basement will house a transport hub with charging points for electric vehicles and secure storage for 286 bicycles, complete with changing rooms. Furthermore, 70 additional car parking spaces are available, alongside retail and leisure units spanning 27,000 sq ft, predominantly fronting The Priory Queensway.
In line with the city’s forward-looking initiatives, the renovated space is expected to be available by the first quarter of next year, promising a fresh, vibrant addition to Birmingham’s business district.
The transformation of 2 Colmore Square and Cannon House into ‘Multistory’ marks a significant milestone in Birmingham’s urban development.
