Raw Cut Ventures, renowned for its factual crime content, has produced notable series such as “Police Interceptors” for Channel 5 and “The Detectives: Inside the Major Crimes Team” for ITV1. With a rich portfolio of over 800 hours of television content including true crime, history, and feature documentaries, Raw Cut adds substantial value to Zinc’s offerings.
The acquisition is poised to bolster Zinc’s production capabilities significantly. Mark Browning, CEO of Zinc Media, expressed enthusiasm about the merger, stating that Raw Cut’s expertise aligns perfectly with Zinc’s vision for world-class factual content. Financially, Raw Cut Ventures has shown strong performance, recording £4.4 million in revenue and £400,000 in profit before tax for the year ending 31 December 2023. The forecast for the current year suggests a revenue increase to £4.6 million and profit before tax of £500,000. The deal includes an earnout provision, adding an extra £5.5 million if Raw Cut achieves an average profit before tax of £1.3 million over the next two years.
