In a significant expansion, the popular Italian restaurant Zizzi is set to introduce three new high-quality products in leading UK supermarkets, Tesco and Waitrose.
Zizzi’s latest venture into retail sees the introduction of the Rustica Aubergine Parmigiana Pizza, which will be exclusively available at Waitrose. This exclusive product is part of Zizzi’s strategy to bring a high-end dining experience into homes across the country, providing customers with the chance to enjoy restaurant-quality meals from the comfort of their own kitchens.
Additionally, Zizzi will launch the Rustica Sticky Pig Pizza and an enhanced Garlic Bread with Mozzarella in Waitrose. These offerings are designed to satisfy diverse palates and enhance the dine-at-home category with their unique flavours and high-quality ingredients.
Meanwhile, Tesco will host the Rustica Sticky Pig Pizza alongside a new Pappardelle Beef Ragu and a refined Casareccia Chicken Piccante, following Zizzi’s commitment to maintaining the quality and taste of its renowned restaurant dishes in this retail format.
Further products in Tesco include favourites like the Italian Ham and Mushroom Rustica Pizza, Piccante Pepperoni, Chorizo Carbonara, and a Carne Piccante Calzone. This range allows customers to explore the rich and varied tastes of Italian cuisine, as curated by one of the UK’s leading restaurant chains.
Rachel Hendry, Zizzi’s Retail and Grocery Director, expressed enthusiasm about the launch, highlighting the brand’s ongoing efforts to adapt its popular restaurant dishes for retail. She noted, “We are delighted to announce the launch of our new retail ranges in both Tesco and Waitrose. We have worked hard to develop unique products and delicious recipes using high-quality, recognisably Zizzi ingredients.”
Zizzi’s journey into retail began with its debut in Sainsbury’s in 2020, and since then, the brand has expanded to most leading supermarkets in the UK. Earlier this year, Zizzi increased its visibility in Morrisons with branded frozen bays and a meal deal offering in 200 stores, which reportedly led to sales of almost 1,000 pizzas daily.
Zizzi’s continued expansion into retail supermarkets reflects its strategic approach to offer restaurant-style meals at home. By extending its range in Tesco and Waitrose, Zizzi is reinforcing its commitment to quality and innovation, making Italian cuisine more accessible to a wider audience.
