Asda is expanding its festive offerings with the introduction of two unique sandwich flavours for the 2024 holiday season.
The supermarket chain is renowned for its seasonal delights, and this year it adds to its repertoire with the ‘Let It Spice Festive Curry Wrap’ and the ‘Christmas Club Sandwich’. These new additions are crafted to cater to those looking for an alternative to the traditional Christmas fare. The Festive Curry Wrap combines chicken breast with a winter-spiced slaw, complemented by a cranberry chutney and a sweet yet mildly spiced curry sauce. Meanwhile, the Christmas Club Sandwich offers a hearty mix featuring chicken breast, cranberry chutney, and beechwood-smoked bacon, further enriched by pork, sage, and onion stuffing, and a subtle touch of chicken stock paste.
Kathryn Saveall, Asda’s product manager for Christmas sandwiches, notes the innovative approach of the curry wrap. “The curry wrap is all about tapping into the typical trend of creating a curry with Christmas leftovers, so if you’re fed up of the traditional roast turkey and trimmings, then the new curry wrap is for you,” she explains.
In addition to these novel offerings, Asda brings back popular choices from previous years with a few tweaks. The Boxing Day Sandwich, this year, swaps turkey for chicken, offering a slight variation to last year’s selection. Traditional favourites like the Hog Roast Sandwich, Festive Duo Wrap, Prawn Cocktail Sandwich, the Festive Feast Sandwich, and a vegetarian Brie & Cranberry Festive Sandwich also make a comeback, ensuring there is something for every palate.
All sandwiches, starting at £2.50, are available in stores and online and are part of a convenient three-for-two meal deal. Accompanying these festive sandwiches, Asda’s single mince pies are offered as a snack option within this promotion, priced at £1.25. This move positions Asda competitively, as rivals like Tesco, Aldi, and Co-op also launch their own festive selections, allowing consumers to enjoy the Christmas spirit before the holiday arrives.
