In a significant development, ASM Global, in collaboration with the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC), has secured a multi-year deal ensuring that Premier League Darts will continue to be held in some of the United Kingdom’s most renowned arenas until at least 2027. Following a period of unprecedented demand and sales, this partnership will see darts events hosted at AO Arena Manchester, Utilita Arena Newcastle, first direct arena Leeds, Utilita Arena Sheffield, and P&J Live Aberdeen.
These venues are celebrated for their vibrant and distinctive atmospheres, making them favourites among fans. Aberdeen made its initial foray into the Premier League Darts circuit in 2006, with P&J Live being introduced in 2020. Newcastle and Sheffield became part of the tour in 2007, followed by Manchester in 2008. Leeds joined in 2014, setting a record with an audience of 11,000 spectators.
The newly established agreement not only reinforces the connection between these cities and the sport but also guarantees that fans can continue to enjoy high-calibre darts competitions in these locations. Teenage prodigy Luke Littler claimed the title of 2024 Premier League champion and is anticipated to face intense competition from current World Champion Luke Humphries and multiple-time winner Michael van Gerwen in the upcoming season.
Matt Porter, the PDC’s Chief Executive, expressed his enthusiasm by stating, “These five venues are amongst the biggest and most popular which are visited annually by the Premier League and it’s great to secure their immediate future through this new agreement with ASM Global.” His sentiments were echoed by James Taylor, ASM Global’s programming director for sport, who remarked, “We’re thrilled to extend our partnership with the PDC and continue bringing Premier League Darts to some of the UK’s most iconic venues.”
The 2024 season was the largest in the league’s 20-year history, with fan interest reaching new heights. Tickets for the 2025 BetMGM Premier League are currently available for purchase, reflecting the ongoing popularity and anticipation surrounding these events.
This extension assures darts fans of thrilling events in iconic venues for the foreseeable future.
