Kate MacNevin, who has been a pivotal figure in the advertising industry, is set to join Stein IAS as the new Global CEO. Having previously held the position of Global Chief Operating Officer at McCann Worldgroup, MacNevin brings a wealth of experience spanning over three decades, which includes significant leadership roles and achievements.
At Stein IAS, MacNevin will also assume the position of Executive Chair of the parent company, MSQ B2B. Her journey at McCann began with leading the Canadian General Motors business and culminated as the Executive Director of Global Operations for Commonwealth/McCann. More recently, she was the Global Chairwoman and CEO of MRM, McCann’s direct and digital marketing arm.
MacNevin expressed her enthusiasm for joining Stein IAS, noting MSQ’s strong reputation as an independent group that prioritises clients’ needs. She highlighted the group’s entrepreneurial spirit and the effective collaboration among its agencies as key factors in her decision. “With this nimble model the group has created, the possibilities are endless,” she stated, emphasising the evolving nature of business-to-business strategies, which now increasingly draw from direct-to-consumer approaches.
In her new role, MacNevin will work closely with Stein IAS’s leadership, including Tom Stein, the Chairman and Chief Brand Officer, and Craig Duxbury, the Global President. She will report directly to MSQ’s Board and Executive Director, Kate Howe. Howe commended the appointment as a testament to MSQ’s forward momentum and ambitious plans to establish agency hubs across key markets in the US, UK, mainland Europe, and Asia, articulating her excitement about the new path ahead with MacNevin.
