Majestic Wine, a leading retailer, has partnered with Just Eat to increase its offerings in the fast-growing on-demand delivery sector. This collaboration allows customers to order from a wide range of wines, including Champagne, Bordeaux, and Italian varieties, as well as beers and spirits. Deliveries can be completed in as little as 30 minutes, providing unparalleled convenience.
Launching initially in 43 Majestic stores, such as those in London and other major cities like Edinburgh and Sheffield, the service is set to spread across the UK before Christmas. This expansion aligns with Majestic’s strategic goal of enhancing customer experience through more flexible delivery options.
The partnership with Just Eat complements Majestic’s existing links with Uber Eats, Deliveroo, and Gophr, highlighting its commitment to meeting the increasing customer interest in local delivery solutions. In 2023/24, online sales accounted for over 20% of Majestic’s total retail sales, driven by its Shop Local service that facilitates real-time inventory checks and rapid local fulfilment.
Majestic’s commercial general manager, Maria Lopez, expressed enthusiasm for this venture, stating, “This exciting new partnership with Just Eat will allow us to serve even more customers, whenever they need us, through the rapidly growing on-demand channel.” Her sentiments were echoed by Just Eat’s director of strategic partnerships, Amy Heather, who remarked on the value of adding Majestic’s diverse offerings to their platform, furthering customer convenience.
Earlier this year, Majestic’s CEO, John Colley, outlined plans to open over 50 new stores. This move is part of a broader strategy to strengthen the brand’s market presence following its acquisition by US private equity firm Fortress in 2019.
This partnership signals Majestic’s ongoing dedication to evolving with consumer demand and enhancing service delivery.
