Liverpool FC has introduced Kate (Pratt) Theobald as its new Commercial Director, marking a notable shift in its leadership team. Previously serving as the Head of Global Partnership Sales since 2019, Theobald has been instrumental in steering the club’s commercial strategies and expanding its global influence.
She takes over from Ben Latty, who ascended to the position of Chief Commercial Officer last season. This transition underlines Theobald’s impressive track record and her deep understanding of the club’s vision for international partnerships.
Before joining Liverpool FC, Theobald honed her skills as Director of Marketing Partnerships at The Madison Square Garden Company and as a Senior Account Executive at the New York Yankees. Her experiences there have equipped her with unique insights beneficial to her new role at Liverpool FC.
In her time at the club, Theobald has been pivotal in establishing its New York office under Fenway Sports Management. This move has significantly broadened the club’s commercial opportunities, bringing major brands such as Expedia Group and Coca-Cola into their partnership fold.
Reflecting on her appointment, Theobald stated, “I’m honoured to step into this new role at LFC, working alongside our global partnerships sales, partnerships central and delivery teams to further our vision of creating meaningful, values-driven partnerships around the world.”
Her efforts have not only reinforced Liverpool FC’s commercial presence in the Americas but have also fostered a robust framework that aligns with the club’s values and strategic goals. Chief Commercial Officer Ben Latty commended Theobald, saying she has played a valuable role in driving the club’s global partnership vision, adding, “Her dedication to fostering relationships internally and externally with market-leading partners are a testament to her leadership.”
Theobald’s appointment as Commercial Director marks a promising direction for Liverpool FC’s global partnership strategy.
