- Liz Harris, also from Morrisons, joins as Head of Retail Operations to drive strategic initiatives in over 300 stores.
- Tony Fearon will assume the position of Group Commercial Director, bringing valuable expertise to Poundstretcher’s commercial strategies.
- The team expansion includes experienced professionals from notable retailers like Home Bargains, B&M, and Poundland.
In a decisive move to fortify its leadership team, Poundstretcher has strategically appointed several former Morrisons executives. This initiative aims to propel the company’s growth plan as it operates under new ownership from Fortress Investment Group. Notably, Miles Foster, bringing 35 years of experience from Morrisons, joins as Group Operations Director. Foster is entrusted with overseeing more than 300 stores and spearheading the retailer’s growth initiatives, directly reporting to CEO Andy Atkinson.
Liz Harris is appointed the Head of Retail Operations, following her near two-decade tenure at Morrisons, which ended in 2022. Her expertise is expected to enhance operational efficiencies and improve customer engagement strategies across numerous outlets.
Further strengthening the executive team, Tony Fearon has been named Group Commercial Director. His previous role as Category Director at Morrisons adds considerable value to Poundstretcher’s commercial activities and tactical decision-making processes. Alongside him, the company welcomes Kyle Storey, formerly of Poundland, to lead trading for fast-moving consumer goods, while Connor Black, an ex-Morrisons buying executive, takes on the role for pet products.
The retailer’s bolstered team is further enriched by industry veterans such as Annette Beecham, previously a regional manager at both Home Bargains and B&M. Mandy Fitzpatrick joins to lead the loss prevention team, lauded for her impactful contributions in a similar capacity at Poundland.
New area managers including Tim Dearing, Simon Smith, and James MacTavish bring additional depth to Poundstretcher’s operational capabilities. Their collective experience spans reputable firms such as B&M, One Beyond, Morrisons, and Asda. CEO Andy Atkinson expressed enthusiasm about these developments, stating, “As we start this long and important journey, I am delighted that such a talented group of leaders have chosen to take the next step in their careers with us. These people are the best in the industry, and share our values in supporting our colleagues, and putting customers first.”
Poundstretcher’s strategic appointments underscore its commitment to growth and excellence in the retail sector.
