Coggles is set to continue its operations solely online after its standalone store is transformed into a Flannels boutique by its new owner, Frasers Group.
- The retail giant acquired Coggles in June and aims to expand Flannels’ presence across the UK.
- Coggles’ 4,000 square foot store in Alderley Edge, initially opened in 2017, has been refurbished as a Flannels outlet.
- Frasers Group’s strategic partnership with the online group involves integrating Frasers Plus into the Ingenuity platform.
- David Epstein, Frasers managing director, confirmed Coggles will operate with a separate team in Manchester.
Coggles, a luxury retailer, will now operate exclusively online under the ownership of Frasers Group. Initially acquired in June, Coggles’ physical store presence is making way for the expansion of Flannels, another luxury brand owned by Frasers.
The Coggles store in Alderley Edge, originally launched in 2017, was opened in a former NatWest bank building. This location has now been transformed into a Flannels boutique, stocking a range of high-end apparel and accessories.
Frasers Group’s acquisition of Coggles from THG is part of a broader strategy to enhance its luxury retail footprint. The transition aligns with Frasers’ goal of bringing luxury shopping experiences to various parts of the country through its Flannels brand.
A significant aspect of Frasers’ strategy is its multi-year collaboration with an online group. This partnership sees the integration of the Frasers Plus credit offering into the online group’s Ingenuity platform, bolstering digital operations.
David Epstein, managing director for premium and luxury at Frasers, stated that while Coggles will concentrate on its digital platform, it will have a dedicated team based in Manchester.
Frasers continues to prioritise expanding the Flannels brand, creating more opportunities to access luxury goods across the nation.
Coggles’ shift to an online-only model under Frasers Group exemplifies the evolving landscape of retail luxury.
