Majestic Wine is making notable strides in its expansion efforts with the opening of a new wine emporium in Plymouth. This latest location is integrated within The Range’s headquarters, utilising an underutilised space to house a 4,400 sq ft store. The store will stock more than 1,200 wines, in addition to a selection of beers, spirits, and low to no alcohol alternatives.
The Plymouth outlet is a key part of Majestic’s overall growth strategy, marking the sixth new store in the current financial year. This aligns with their broader goal to expand their presence and engage with more communities.
CEO John Colley expressed enthusiasm about the new Plymouth store, stating that it was a targeted expansion due to the city’s strategic importance. He highlighted the company’s commitment to engaging with the local community by offering award-winning wines and expert advice.
Majestic continues to champion the experiential, bricks-and-mortar retail experience. This approach includes investing in towns and cities like Solihull, aiming to be an integral part of communities, especially as the festive season approaches.
Majestic’s rapid expansion also reflects a shift in consumer preferences, with organic wine sales nearly doubling in the past year. This growth is attributed to increased availability and demand within the planet-friendly wine category.
Majestic Wine’s strategic expansions demonstrate its commitment to local communities and evolving consumer trends.
