Arla is significantly enhancing its yoghurt offerings with the introduction of three innovative products for the UK market this month.
Arla is diversifying its yoghurt range by launching three distinct products aimed at catering to varied consumer demands within the UK. The first product is a high protein ‘LactoFREE’ natural yoghurt, available in a 400g pack. This yoghurt is crafted to mimic the flavour profile of traditional dairy but is free from lactose, making it a suitable option for lactose-intolerant individuals. It additionally has vitamin D, aligning with growing consumer interest in fortified food products.
Another addition to Arla’s range is the Skyr Whipped yoghurt, further expanding its Icelandic-inspired Skyr line. This product combines the thick, creamy texture of skyr with a fruit compote layer, allowing consumers to choose from appealing flavours such as Strawberries and Cream, Caramelised Orange, and Coconut and White Chocolate. This new offering is positioned to attract those seeking a balance between taste and nutritional benefits.
The final new product is a 450g Protein Pot, offered in Vanilla and Strawberry flavours, boasting a substantial 45g of protein per serving. This product is designed for consumers who prioritise protein intake in their diets, possibly appealing to fitness enthusiasts or those with active lifestyles.
Catriona Mantle, Arla Foods’ associate category director, noted the strategic objective behind these launches, stating, “It’s been nearly 10 years since we brought our first Arla yogurt to the UK market, and as the UK’s largest dairy cooperative, and one of the largest food and drink companies in the country, we are proud to be expanding our yogurts portfolio to offer increased choice for those looking for natural and nutritious food options.” Mantle emphasised that while health and taste remain critical factors for yoghurt consumers, Arla recognises the diverse occasions for which people purchase these products, hence the variety in their latest releases.
In a parallel development, Arla, along with milk supplier Müller, has formed a collaborative initiative with Tesco to launch the Future Dairy Partnership. This farmer-led effort aims to foster sustainability within the dairy sector by reducing on-farm emissions by 30% by 2030. By bringing together key players within the industry, this partnership underscores Arla’s commitment to sustainable practices and innovation in response to environmental challenges.
With these new yoghurt products, Arla continues to solidify its position in the UK market, offering consumers diverse and nutritious options while simultaneously committing to sustainability efforts.
