Ocean Outdoor has announced significant leadership changes as part of its strategy to drive the next phase of the company’s growth. Incoming Group CEO, Stephen Joseph, has introduced key promotions to strengthen performance across the group.
Phil Hall has been appointed as the Group Chief Commercial Officer. This newly created role will be an extension of his current position as UK CEO, indicating a move to consolidate leadership and focus on commercial growth.
Billy Byam-Cook, previously the Group Head of Finance, has been promoted to Chief Financial Officer. His role will involve overseeing commercial contracts and enhancing cross-border agency relationships alongside Mr. Hall.
In a strategic move, Nick Shaw, the current Chief Revenue Officer, has been elevated to UK Chief Commercial Officer, further strengthening the company’s commercial focus within the UK market.
Marketing functions also see a shift with Richard Malton transitioning to Group Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer, while Helen Haines becomes Director of Strategic Marketing. These changes reflect a broader strategy to align best practices across sales, marketing, asset development, and technological innovation.
Stephen Joseph expressed confidence in the new team, stating it combines some of the best experience and expertise to continue Ocean Outdoor’s focus on being the preferred digital out-of-home advertising choice for clients, agencies, and landlord partners.
Ocean Outdoor operates across seven countries, employing 300 people. It has heavily invested in its brand experience and innovation team, Ocean Labs, and its creative production and consultancy department, Ocean Studios.
These departments are led by Catherine Morgan and David Tait respectively, who, along with Steve George, complete the group leadership team. The realignment of roles is designed to support a period of organic growth and mergers and acquisitions as the company looks towards an exciting future.
