Coca-Cola Europacific Partners has announced a collaboration with UK wholesalers to aid the food redistribution charity FareShare during the festive season.
The initiative seeks to provide up to 300,000 meals for those in need, reflecting the company’s ongoing commitment to charitable efforts. This campaign builds on previous collaborations, with Coca-Cola Europacific Partners having donated seven million surplus soft drinks since 2017.
The current initiative will run until 6 January 2025, allowing consumers to contribute indirectly. For every Coca-Cola Zero Sugar 6x2L pack purchased at participating Booker wholesale depots, five meals are donated to FareShare. A parallel promotion at Unitas and Bestway depots will see similar contributions for every Coca-Cola Zero Sugar 12x500ml pack sold.
Additionally, Coca-Cola has committed to donating one meal per person attending the Coca-Cola Christmas Truck tour, aiming to donate up to a million meals through FareShare this Christmas season.
Ruth Fawcett, Associate Director for Wholesale and Convenience, highlighted the initiative’s potential to make a significant impact on communities, with widespread support from wholesale customers already evident. Kirsty Ford, Head of Fundraising at FareShare, expressed gratitude for the continued support, noting that these efforts help distribute good-to-eat food to those in need, particularly during the cost-of-living crisis.
This significant collaboration reflects a strong commitment to fighting hunger in the UK by leveraging well-established distribution networks and community engagement.
