A North West agency has partnered with Carla Lane Animals in Need to launch a festive fundraising campaign. Using their expertise, the agency offered pro-bono PR support, highlighting the ‘Santa Paws’ Christmas appeal. This initiative is part of the agency’s community give-back programme.
The ‘Santa Paws’ appeal was marked by an ad video featuring animals dressed in festive attire. Through imaginative dubbing, these animals ‘requested’ donations from viewers to support their care. This creative approach aimed to engage the public and boost contributions to the charity.
In addition to the Christmas appeal, the agency assisted with a digital campaign promoting the charity’s Bright Eyes club. This initiative focused on animals that could not be rehomed, asking people to commit to monthly sponsorship starting from £5. Sponsors receive regular updates and a welcome pack as part of the club.
The campaign’s visual content included playful posters and short videos, which creatively replaced animal eyes with everyday luxuries. This was designed to encourage potential donors to forego small pleasures in favour of supporting the charity.
Carla Lane Animals in Need has been instrumental in providing shelter to over 1,000 animals in 2024. The charity, based in Liverpool, is home to a wide variety of animals, including dogs, cats, and even sheep and ponies. Over the last year, they have successfully rehomed 860 animals, yet they continue to face challenges in caring for those that cannot find homes.
Jane McGee of Carla Lane Animals in Need remarked, ‘Every animal deserves a chance to have a happy home. Our Santa Paws and Bright Eyes campaign, launched with the agency’s support, is a creative and effective effort to increase sponsorships and will allow us to continue providing the proper care these vulnerable animals need.’
Viv Griffiths of the agency added, ‘As part of our 10 pledges, we were delighted to offer support to Carla Lane. Given the diverse range of services we provide, we were able to give both PR and creative support to bring this campaign to life. Through some tongue-in-cheek Liverpudlian humour, imaginative artwork, and targeted outreach, we hope that Carla Lane will see an increase in donations that it thoroughly deserves.’
The collaborative efforts between the agency and the charity highlight the power of creative campaigns in supporting animal welfare.
