Britvic has once again solidified its long-term collaboration with Wincanton, renewing a contract that extends their partnership into its 40th year.
The partnership between Britvic and Wincanton, a well-regarded supply chain specialist, has been extended for another decade. This ongoing collaboration ensures that Wincanton will continue to provide essential storage and distribution services for Britvic’s diverse range of brands, such as Robinsons, J2O, and Tango.
Under the renewed agreement, Wincanton will maintain its management of operations at Britvic’s national distribution centre in Lutterworth, Leicestershire, alongside its fully automated warehouse in Rugby, Warwickshire. Together, these facilities are responsible for dispatching approximately 650,000 cases of Britvic products daily, illustrating the scale and efficiency of the logistics operation.
A significant aspect of this renewed contract includes Wincanton’s commitment to making substantial investments in automation at the Lutterworth site. This strategic move aims to enhance productivity, increase capacity, and bolster supply chain capability over the coming decade.
Nigel Paine, Britvic’s supply chain director, expressed satisfaction with the continuation of this long-standing partnership, highlighting the effective site management and shared values between the two companies. He remarked on their mutual focus on people, planet, and performance as key to their sustained success.
From Wincanton’s perspective, James Hurrell, managing director for grocery and consumer operations, noted the extension of this relationship as a proud milestone. He emphasised their shared values and the commitment to developing a resilient and innovative growth platform for Britvic in the UK.
The extension of Britvic’s partnership with Wincanton marks a significant step in their joint venture, promising enhanced operational capabilities and continued success through shared objectives and mutual trust.
