MT Group, an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor, has signed a significant construction agreement with Gasfin Development to enhance energy infrastructure at the Brunsbüttel floating liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal in Germany. The contract involves the construction and installation of a 60MW heater facility designed to improve the terminal’s efficiency and performance.
The facility will be constructed at the Brunsbüttel terminal, operated by the state-owned Deutsche Energy Terminal GmbH (DET). With construction set to begin in 2024, MT Group has already commenced preparatory work for the project. The company will manage general construction and mechanical works, including the installation and commissioning of technological equipment, as well as electrical and automation systems.
Mindaugas Zakaras, CEO of MT Group, expressed enthusiasm about the project, stating, “This project aligns perfectly with MT Group’s long-term strategy to be at the forefront of Europe’s energy transformation. By leveraging our extensive experience in delivering complex LNG projects, we are not only supporting Germany’s energy independence but also reinforcing our commitment to building modern, sustainable energy infrastructure across the region.”
The new heater facility is essential for ensuring the effective regasification of LNG at the floating terminal, contributing to improved operational efficiency. Zakaras further noted that the successful execution of this project would showcase MT Group’s ability to meet demanding technical and operational standards, significantly enhancing the company’s project portfolio.
