Yorkshire law firm, Best Solicitors, joins hands with Sheffield-based charity, Support Dogs, to demonstrate their commitment to the community through a heartwarming event. The collaboration aims to support individuals living with autism, epilepsy, or physical disabilities. Best Solicitors is enhancing its support by providing a complimentary will-writing service, encouraging legacy donations to aid the charity’s mission.
On 14 February 2024, Best Solicitors will host a special event at their head office in Sheffield. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet some of the assistance dogs and engage with the dedicated staff of Support Dogs. A charity cake sale will also take place, with all proceeds going towards the charity’s vital work.
Support Dogs specialises in training assistance dogs to support individuals with specific needs, promoting safer and more independent living. The organisation relies heavily on generous donations left in wills and legacies, with one in three dogs funded this way. The collaborative event is a significant step in raising awareness and funds for the charity’s evolving initiatives.
Danny Anderson, head of fundraising at Support Dogs, appreciates the partnership, stating, “We are so grateful to Best Solicitors for supporting us in this way – we’re two long-established local organisations working together so this is a real match made in heaven.” Anne Rogers from Best Solicitors emphasises their dedication to community well-being by organising meaningful initiatives.
Best Solicitors and Support Dogs previously collaborated on a charity netball event, demonstrating a sustained commitment to philanthropy. Anne Rogers notes, “We were really inspired by the dogs and their abilities to support the vulnerable on all different levels. We wanted to raise awareness and raise money for Support Dogs and this is why we have organised a will-writing event.”
This event underscores the power of collaboration between local organisations, aiming to enhance the quality of life for individuals in need.
This partnership exemplifies a thoughtful approach to community support and the importance of legacy donations.
