Deliveroo has entered into a collaboration with Blue Light Card to provide an enhanced delivery service for key workers, including those in emergency services, NHS, teaching, social care, and armed forces. This partnership marks Deliveroo as the sole delivery app working with Blue Light Card, offering substantial savings and benefits specifically tailored for essential workers.
The initiative includes a free Deliveroo Plus Silver membership for a period of twelve months. This membership, valued at over £40 annually, provides key workers with an opportunity to enjoy cost-free deliveries from a wide range of eateries and retailers, including renowned names such as Nando’s, Wagamama, and Waitrose, among others.
Furthermore, Blue Light Card members will have access to exclusive offers unique to their local area throughout the year. These offers, available only to Plus members, are designed to provide additional value and convenience, enhancing the delivery experience for these workers.
Additionally, the agreement includes participation in Deliveroo’s rewards programme, where members can receive a discount of £8 on their fourth order if they place three orders from the same venue within thirty days. This programme aims to incentivise consistent usage and support of local businesses.
Deliveroo’s UK and Ireland VP of Marketing, Caroline Harris, emphasised the importance of this partnership in showing gratitude: “We’re proud to reward Blue Light members with free delivery when they order from their favourite neighbourhood restaurants, grocers, and retailers, as well as exclusive members-only discounts.”
Andy Collins, COO of Blue Light Card, acknowledged the utility of this partnership for workers who require flexibility in their meal planning and acquisitions: “For many shift workers, being able to get their favourite meals or essentials delivered round-the-clock is a game-changer, so this unique partnership with Deliveroo is another way for us to show our hardworking and dedicated community that we’re there for them 24/7.”
This partnership underscores the commitment to supporting those who tirelessly serve the community by enhancing convenience and savings.
