Sainsbury’s has initiated a significant recruitment campaign to secure 20,000 temporary employees in anticipation of the busy Christmas period. This effort underscores the retailer’s commitment to delivering a seamless shopping experience during the festive season.
Out of these roles, 18,000 are earmarked for Sainsbury’s, covering a spectrum of responsibilities including shop floor service, warehouse operations, and delivery fleet management. Additionally, Argos is contributing with 2,000 roles to meet the increased demand.
Successful candidates will join the workforce on fixed-term contracts ranging between three weeks and three months, providing flexibility for both the employer and employees during this peak period.
Compensation for these temporary positions is competitive, with in-store and warehouse workers earning between £12 and £13.50 per hour, while delivery drivers are offered between £13 and £14.65 per hour, contingent on the role and geographical location.
