The World’s 50 Best Bars 2024, sponsored by Perrier, has unveiled its extended 51-100 list ahead of the main ranking, which will be announced on 22 October in Madrid. Decided by a voting panel of over 700 independent drinks experts, including celebrated bartenders, educators, and award-winning drinks writers, this extended list shines a light on some of the finest cocktail establishments across the globe.
35 Cities Represented
Bars from 35 different cities around the world feature in this year’s 51-100 ranking, with 12 new entries making their debut. The USA continues to dominate the list with seven bars spread across four cities, further solidifying its position as a major player in the global cocktail scene. The UK leads Europe with four bars out of 18 from the continent making the cut. Asia boasts 13 bars in total, with three of those in Singapore.
A Broader Celebration of Excellence
The expanded list provides a greater platform to showcase the exceptional talents and dedication of the global bartending community. The 51-100 list serves as a prelude to the official unveiling of the top 50 bars, highlighting both rising stars and established favourites. With this broader selection, 50 Best aims to reflect the diversity of the global bar scene, celebrating new trends, regional favourites, and the industry’s dedication to excellence.
New Entries
Among the new entries in the 51-100 range are some notable names, including London’s Kwãnt Mayfair at No.52 and Singapore’s Cat Bite Club at No.56. Europe is well represented with Madrid’s Angelita ranking at No.65, while Toronto’s Bar Pompette comes in at No.70. Singapore sees another mention with Night Hawk at No.74, and Dubai’s LPM Dubai makes the list at No.76. Further entries include Bird in Copenhagen (No.77), The Savoury Project in Hong Kong (No.82), and Amaro in London (No.90).
One of the most remarkable entries comes from Hiriketiya, Sri Lanka, with Smoke & Bitters at No.86, marking the first time the country has had a bar featured in the ranking. Other new entrants include Kuala Lumpur’s Penrose at No.98 and Viajante87 in London, which rounds out the list at No.99.
Global Highlights
Australia is represented by two bars, while Dubai, Nairobi, and Johannesburg each feature one establishment on the extended list. The continued rise of cocktail culture in emerging markets is evident, with this year’s list reflecting the growing recognition of excellence beyond traditional bar hubs.
