In a significant move to extend its retail footprint, The Entertainer has successfully completed the rollout of its toy shop-in-shops in over 850 Tesco stores across the UK and the Republic of Ireland.
The Entertainer’s extensive expansion involved the launch of 861 new concessions within large Tesco outlets over the past eight months. This ambitious project witnessed an average of 100 new openings each month, underscoring the brand’s commitment to enhancing accessibility to its toy offerings.
A crucial factor in supporting this rapid growth is the establishment of a new distribution centre by The Entertainer. This facility has been instrumental in maintaining sufficient stock levels across the newly launched in-store concessions, thereby meeting the heightened consumer demand.
Andrew Murphy OBE, Chief Executive of The Entertainer, remarked on the success of this expansion, noting its impact on the retail landscape. “This rollout has significantly increased our retail footprint in the UK and Ireland – putting over 90% of the UK’s shoppers within easy reach of our unmatched toy offer. The speed and impact of this growth is a testament to our team’s agility, attention to detail and a deep understanding of customer needs.” Murphy further highlighted the partnership with Tesco as a pivotal element in broadening their ‘Toy Box’ retail strategy, with aspirations to forge additional retail partnerships both domestically and internationally.
