Mazars, an integrated international partnership specialising in audit, accountancy, advisory, and tax services, is significantly expanding its global presence. With operations now spanning over 100 countries and employing more than 47,000 people, Mazars supports clients of all sizes at every stage of their development. This expansion strategy is evident in their recent collaboration with the US-based accounting firm FORVIS. From the 1st of June, Mazars and FORVIS will align to form a top 10 global accounting network named Forvis Mazars, enhancing Mazars’ capacity to support clients wishing to expand into the US and attracting US investment into the UK.
Diversity and inclusion are core elements of Mazars’ recruitment strategy. Over the past four years, the company has refined its approach to ensure a focus on these values. They utilise a contextual recruitment process to consider candidates’ socio-economic backgrounds, extending opportunities to those who may have faced barriers through traditional recruitment methods. Mazars has achieved an equal gender split intake for trainees in Leeds and offers internships tailored to diverse groups, including those with disabilities and Black heritage. These efforts are part of a broader initiative to promote social mobility within the firm.
Mazars remains actively engaged with the local community in Leeds. Their team members are encouraged to dedicate time each year to corporate social responsibility, participating in activities such as running soup kitchens for homelessness charities and volunteering at food banks. They have established connections with local schools and universities and support youth initiatives like IntoUniversity and Young Enterprise. Such initiatives underscore Mazars’ ethos of giving back to the communities in which they operate.
Natalie Wright, Leeds office managing partner and head of family business at Mazars, emphasises the importance of fostering an inclusive work environment. She advocates for breaking down barriers and challenging preconceived norms, driven by her own experiences as a school leaver. Mazars’ internal culture programme promotes principles like doing the right thing, showing respect, and taking responsibility, aligning with their commitment to diversity and inclusivity.
Mazars continues to blend global expansion with strong local commitments to diversity and community engagement.
