Liverpool’s planning committee is poised to consider a proposal for an 80-bed hotel to be located near Everton’s new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock. Situated on Regent Road, the establishment promises striking vistas of the new 52,888-seat venue.
The site earmarked for development is surrounded by industrial and warehouse buildings, prominently featuring a Grade II listed old mill. This historical edifice is set to play a central role in the hotel’s construction, with 32 rooms allocated within the refurbished structure, augmented by 48 additional rooms in a newly constructed section.
Dating back to the mid-19th century, the warehouse embodies one of the era’s significant advancements in fireproof design. Original internal features such as concrete floors, robust softwood, trapdoors, and cast-iron details remain significant. These elements are complemented by jigger lofts, beams, and a roof structure supported by timber columns, preserving the building’s architectural legacy.
The plans indicate that the existing warehouse will host four levels of hotel accommodation above a basement. The ground floor will boast a Regent Bar and a Fulton Bar, flanking a central lounge area that serves as a reception hub accessible from Blackstone Street. This setup aims to enhance both the project’s appeal and its synergy with the surrounding urban landscape.
