Aldi, known for its cost-effective retail strategy, has announced Card Factory as its official supplier of greeting cards for both the UK and Irish markets. This multi-year contract signifies a strategic move as Aldi’s store count continues to rapidly expand, currently at 1,200 locations. The goal is to streamline and enhance the variety of greeting cards available to customers.
Having partnered initially in 2019, Card Factory was supplying 550 Aldi stores in the UK. This arrangement originally featured a shared supplier role with IG Design Group. However, the new agreement elevates Card Factory to the exclusive supplier, strengthening its presence within Aldi’s retail ecosystem.
Additionally, Card Factory has ventured beyond traditional retail models by partnering with Just Eat to offer a rapid delivery service of greeting cards and celebration essentials. This service, initially launched in 19 stores across cities such as Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, London, Belfast, and Cardiff, is set to expand to more locations by the end of the year.
This partnership marks a significant expansion for Card Factory, aligning with Aldi’s growth and innovation strategies.
