This strategic partnership marks a transformative moment for Farmison, less than 18 months after being rescued from administration through the efforts of a consortium spearheaded by former Asda boss Andy Clarke. With the appointment of ex-M&S Food managing director Andy Adcock as chief executive, Farmison is poised to expand its reach beyond direct-to-consumer sales.
Beginning 17 September, Wellocks customers will gain access to an exclusive range of naturally fed, premium meat from Farmison, specially curated by the celebrated Michelin star chef Pierre Koffmann. This marks the inaugural inclusion of a British meat range by the acclaimed Wellocks, offering an array of select cuts such as 32-day dry-aged sirloin and ribeye steak, heritage breed diced beef chuck, seven-day aged lamb rack, whole lamb middles, and free-range chicken.
In addition to these prime offerings, the range extends to distinctive products including lamb merguez sausages, Nidderdale sausages, Wiltshire cured back bacon, and steak and bone marrow burgers, providing Wellocks’ clientele with a diverse selection to enhance their culinary offerings.
This collaboration not only represents a significant expansion for Farmison but also highlights their commitment to flavour, quality, and sustainability. Wellocks managing director Jill Martin expressed pride in this venture, emphasising the shared commitment to exceptional ingredients and the unique opportunity to connect chefs directly with producers. With endorsements from revered chef Pierre Koffmann, the range underscores a dedication to traceability and quality.
Jill Martin further commented on the importance of upholding the integrity of the supply chain, maintaining a direct link from producer to kitchen, ensuring that the passion for the product is preserved through each stage of delivery.
