Lush has unveiled a rejuvenated collection inspired by The Body Shop’s iconic products.
- This new line reformulates over a dozen beloved vegan beauty products.
- Mark Constantine, Lush’s founder, initially worked with Anita Roddick on The Body Shop’s best sellers.
- Despite their past, the two companies shared suppliers and a mutual history.
- The collection features updated versions of well-known favourites now available online.
Lush has announced the launch of a new collection that draws inspiration from The Body Shop’s most popular products. This launch offers a fresh perspective on more than a dozen of the vegan beauty chain’s top sellers, spanning hair, body, and skincare.
The initiative is rooted in a shared history between the two companies, as Lush founder Mark Constantine once collaborated with The Body Shop’s founder Anita Roddick. Constantine began his career supplying products to The Body Shop and contributed to the development of several best-selling formulas.
The past connection between Lush and The Body Shop has rekindled interest as the latter recently fell into administration. Lush’s co-founders expressed a desire to revisit the original formulas, referring to them as ‘the ones that got away’.
The collection, known as ‘The Lush Version’, includes updated takes on The Body Shop classics like ginger shampoo, banana conditioner, hemp hand cream, and cocoa body butter. These products are now available online and will be in larger stores by November.
The launch is timely, coinciding with a significant restructuring at The Body Shop under new ownership. The investment company Aurea, led by Mike Jatania, has rescued The Body Shop, which now operates 133 stores, down from 198 before administration.
This revival pays homage to past collaborations while breathing new life into cherished classics.
