Primark is rolling out its click-and-collect service to 54 more stores across Great Britain just in time for the bustling Christmas shopping season. This expansion significantly enhances customer convenience by making the service available in more than half of Primark’s stores nationwide. The company aims to fully implement this service across all its locations by the end of 2025.
The expanded click-and-collect service now includes menswear and homewares in its range, along with the already available women’s and kidswear. This broader range allows customers to access more products typically found only in larger stores, thereby providing them with more variety and choice.
Kari Rodgers, Primark’s UK retail director, highlighted the significance of this initiative. She noted, “It’s been fifty years since we first opened our doors in Derby to bring affordable fashion to the British high street and expanding click and collect is another way we are giving people more reasons to visit their local high street and Primark.”
This strategic expansion aligns with Primark’s impressive financial performance. The company posted a substantial 46% increase in adjusted operating profit, reaching £508 million in the 24 weeks leading up to 2 March, with sales rising by 7.5% to £4.5 billion. Primark attributes this growth to newer store openings and carefully selected price adjustments made to counteract inflation, which effectively boosted their profit margins.
The update is timely, enhancing Primark’s offerings as it approaches the busy Christmas period, thus likely attracting more in-store visits and strengthening its position in the competitive retail market.
Primark’s strategic enhancement of its click-and-collect service positions the retailer for growth during the festive shopping season and beyond.
