This increase marks significant growth in AI adoption, showing a rise of 18% since the beginning of this year. Presently, 44% of office workers express enthusiasm about including AI in their daily tasks, indicating a positive reception to technology’s potential.
Despite this excitement, many employees are not fully equipped to maximise AI efficiencies, as identified in the Slack survey. A noticeable gap in training means time saved by AI is being redirected towards administrative duties rather than being used for professional development or strategic activities. Such tasks include unnecessary meetings and excessive paperwork, often leading to burnout as 64% of desk workers face monthly burnout.
The survey highlights a trust issue, with 94% of employees not considering AI outputs entirely reliable for work-related tasks. Furthermore, only 12% of workers feel adequately trained to use AI effectively, illustrating a significant barrier to maximising AI’s potential.
