Barbour, a well-known British heritage brand, has opened its latest store in the vibrant district of Covent Garden, specifically in the Seven Dials area. This addition forms a part of Barbour’s strategic rollout of its new retail concept throughout the United Kingdom.
The recently opened store is situated in a Grade II-listed building at 37 Neal Street, boasting a generous size of 579 sq ft amidst other recent retail arrivals. Finisterre and Loake are among the other brands establishing their presence in this locale.
With this opening, Barbour now has two retail locations in Covent Garden. The first, and significantly larger, two-storey unit was launched in 2011 on nearby Long Acre. Earlier this summer, the brand also expanded its reach by opening a new store on Soho’s Carnaby Street.
The new outlets embrace Barbour’s “New Heritage” retail concept, a unique fusion of industrial design elements and the brand’s longstanding craftsmanship traditions. This concept is a strategic initiative to connect with Barbour’s rich heritage while offering exclusive, limited-edition re-loved jackets and re-waxing services under its “wax for life” programme.
Paul Wilkinson, Barbour’s Group Commercial Director, expressed the brand’s commitment to extending the life of its garments and emphasised the importance of an engaging consumer experience. He remarked on Neal Street’s suitability for their store, given its proximity to a diverse international clientele and various global and independent brands.
Furthermore, Barbour is poised to continue its store expansion with the launch of its first site in Leeds at the Victoria Quarter expected in the upcoming weeks.
Barbour’s strategic expansion into prominent locations underscores its dedication to heritage and quality, strengthening its retail presence nationwide.
