In a significant development, Betfred has partnered with BOXXER, a leading entity in boxing promotions, to enhance its brand visibility across various boxing events. Founded in 1967 by Fred Done, Betfred stands as one of the United Kingdom’s largest independent bookmakers, boasting a substantial presence with 1,350 betting shops and a growing online platform.
BOXXER has established itself as a preeminent promoter in the boxing world since its inception in 2018. Under the guidance of its Manchester entrepreneur founder, Ben Shalom, BOXXER has rapidly ascended the ranks, becoming a key player in the industry. Its events are exclusively broadcasted on Sky Sports across the UK and Ireland and span over 150 territories worldwide, including a partnership with NBC in the United States.
The strategic alliance between Betfred and BOXXER ensures that Betfred’s branding is prominently displayed at all BOXXER’s events. This includes branding across the centre ring, ropes, corners, and toblerones, as well as mentions during live broadcasts. Furthermore, each event will feature a dedicated ‘Betfred Fight of the Night’, showcasing Betfred’s integral role in the proceedings.
Moreover, Betfred will be actively involved in pre-event promotional activities. This will encompass digital assets and physical materials displayed during press conferences, open workouts, and weigh-ins. The collaboration will also be amplified through various social and digital content activations such as video betting previews, editorial pieces, co-branded content series, and odds-focused graphics.
The partnership makes its debut at BOXXER’s upcoming event on 19th October at the Copper Box Arena in London. Highlighting the event is a super-lightweight clash featuring Adam Azim, an emerging star in the boxing world, pitted against the seasoned Ohara Davies.
Ben Shalom, BOXXER’s CEO, emphasised the natural fit between the two brands, both hailing from Greater Manchester, and anticipated a promising partnership. Meanwhile, Fred Done expressed his enthusiasm, highlighting Betfred’s long-standing passion for boxing and the opportunity to enhance its visibility on Sky Sports.
This alliance marks a new chapter in sports promotion, promising increased brand engagement and viewer excitement.
