Disney+ has introduced the trailer for ‘Beatles ’64′, a new documentary produced by Martin Scorsese and directed by David Tedeschi. This film offers a compelling look at the Beatles’ first visit to America, a turning point that triggered Beatlemania. Featuring previously unseen footage, this documentary vividly captures the historic moments that defined the era.
The documentary begins with the Beatles’ landing in New York City, where a sea of enthusiastic fans awaited them. This marked the beginning of the Beatlemania phenomenon in America. The film includes significant live performances from their initial American concert held at the Washington, DC Coliseum and their celebrated appearances on The Ed Sullivan Show.
Remarkably, the film has undergone a meticulous 4K restoration by Park Road Post in New Zealand, ensuring that these iconic moments are preserved with the utmost clarity. The audio from these live performances has been expertly demixed by WingNut Films and remixed by Giles Martin, offering a fresh take on the original sound.
In a collaborative effort, notable figures such as Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Olivia Harrison, and Sean Ono Lennon contributed to the production, alongside Margaret Bodde, Jonathan Clyde, and Mikaela Beardsley. Jeff Jones and Rick Yorn served as executive producers, reinforcing the project’s star-studded lineup.
Coinciding with the documentary’s release, seven American Beatles albums have been painstakingly analogue cut for 180-gram audiophile vinyl. These albums, derived from the original mono master tapes, are set for a global release on 22nd November by Apple Corps Ltd./Capitol/UMe, providing a tangible piece of music history for collectors.
The release of ‘Beatles ’64’ offers fans a chance to relive the band’s pivotal American debut in stunning detail.
