GigPig, an online live music marketplace, has taken a significant step by appointing its first Music Operations Director in pursuit of expanding its hospitality offerings. The company is based in Manchester and Newcastle, and aims to enhance its presence through strategic leadership.
The newly appointed director, Luke Geoghegan, brings experience and a passion for music and hospitality. As the former Head of Music at New World Trading Company, Geoghegan is set to drive the collaboration, which now allows all 31 NWTC sites to access GigPig’s platform for live entertainment bookings.
As the platform continues to grow, GigPig has already facilitated more than 30,000 gigs this year across over 800 venues. Such growth reflects on the popularity and increasing demand for live music experiences in hospitality settings.
CEO Michael Forster expressed his enthusiasm for Geoghegan’s arrival, noting the potential to enhance GigPig’s existing relationships and uncover new opportunities. According to Forster, “We are really excited to welcome Luke to the team,” highlighting the value Geoghegan’s expertise brings in ensuring high-quality entertainment.
The partnership between GigPig and the New World Trading Company aligns with GigPig’s mission to transform every pub, bar, and restaurant into a stage for artists, thereby supporting both the music and hospitality sectors. Geoghegan’s dedication to this mission is evident as he aims to make a meaningful impact.
Previously, GigPig has successfully collaborated with prominent operators such as BrewDog, Alberts Schloss, and Arc Inspirations, demonstrating its capacity to work effectively with various hospitality brands.
With its new leadership, GigPig is poised to continue its trajectory of growth, making live music more accessible and creating a more equitable environment for artists.
GigPig’s strategic leadership appointment marks a promising new chapter in its mission to connect artists with hospitality venues.
