Velstar, a prominent ecommerce specialist based in the North West, has furthered its growth by acquiring the Scottish PPC and paid social agency, Yatter. Founded by Gavin Bell, Yatter has been integral in developing successful paid advertising strategies for over 60 clients, including notable names such as the Loch Lomond Group and Countrywide.
Yatter’s integration into Velstar brings a rich portfolio and a team skilled in strategy building, copywriting, and creative services. This strengthens Velstar’s ability to deliver comprehensive marketing solutions, pushing its client-focused workforce beyond 150 employees.
Peter Birks, CEO of Velstar, expressed optimism about the acquisition, highlighting the potential for growth and enhanced service offerings. He stated, “This is a positive move for the Velstar group as we continue to expand our services and grow our team and expertise. With our building strategic plans for 2025, I am confident there are exciting and rewarding times ahead for our customers and colleagues.”
The acquisition aligns with Velstar’s ambitious revenue goals, forecasting in excess of £10 million for 2024. This represents a significant growth trajectory, reflecting a 250% increase since 2022. Such expansion strategies highlight Velstar’s commitment to broadening its market influence and service capacity.
Gavin Bell, Yatter’s co-founder, is enthusiastic about joining forces with Velstar, pointing to shared goals and potential for innovation in ecommerce and advertising. He remarked, “Velstar’s impressive growth and shared vision to be the UK’s #1 independent agency made them the perfect partner for Yatter’s next chapter. Building Yatter alongside my business partner, Dave McCall, has been a rewarding journey, and I’m thrilled to see our team’s expertise in paid advertising join Velstar’s growing capabilities.”
Velstar’s acquisition of Yatter follows a series of strategic purchases this year, including the Leeds-based B2B agency, 9XB, in August, Surrey-based WeTeachCRO in March, and Chester’s We Influence in October 2022. These moves are part of Velstar’s strategy to enhance its end-to-end commerce solutions, supporting major brands such as Tangle Teezer, NEOM, Castore, and Avon.
The acquisition of Yatter signifies Velstar’s steadfast commitment to growth and service expansion in the ecommerce sector.
