Founded by industry veterans Paul Gouge and Alex Rigby, who previously sold their successful venture Playdemic to Electronic Arts for a staggering $1.4 billion, ForthStar is no stranger to ambitious achievements. Their latest venture has secured a notable $10 million in funding from Silicon Valley’s Griffin Gaming Partners, reflecting strong confidence in their future projects.
The company has set its roots in a 6,396 square-foot studio within the newly developed Foundation building, a venture by Bruntwood and Trafford Council. This strategic location not only provides a physical space conducive to creativity and innovation but also aligns with the founders’ vision of an environment that both motivates and empowers its workforce.
Paul Gouge, in explaining the move, emphasized the importance of surroundings, stating, “We believe that the greatest companies hire incredible talent into amazing environments. These environments are both cultural and physical, and enable and empower people to do their best work. In line with this belief, we have created an inspirational space for our people in the heart of Altrincham and they love it!” This insight into their corporate philosophy reveals a commitment to nurturing talent within an inspiring setting.
Previously based in the nearby Station House building, ForthStar collaborated with Bruntwood to meticulously design and set up their new studio. Sharon Johnson, Head of Commercial at Bruntwood, added, “With Foundation, we want to create a community where businesses can come together to collaborate, socialise and support the development of the business community in Altrincham. ForthStar is a welcome addition to this.” Her statement underscores the communal aspect of the Foundation project and highlights ForthStar’s role within this collaborative ecosystem.
ForthStar’s move to Altrincham represents a strategic step towards innovation and community engagement for the budding gaming start-up.
