The fifth annual Wales HR Awards celebrated HR professionals for their outstanding contributions in 2022.

The recent Wales HR Awards marked a significant occasion, recognising the exceptional efforts made by HR professionals across various sectors in Wales. These awards, now in their fifth year, aim to highlight the invaluable contributions of HR teams and individuals who work tirelessly behind the scenes.
Ogi, a broadband specialist, stood out by winning the coveted HR Team of the Year award. Additionally, Lisa Hand, the company’s HR Director, was celebrated as the HR Director of the Year, solidifying Ogi’s leadership in HR excellence.
Sarah King, who serves as the HR Director at Gower College Swansea, received the distinguished HR Star award. This award represents the pinnacle of HR achievement at the event, underscoring her exemplary work in the field.
Gower College Swansea was also recognised for its outstanding initiatives, winning titles for Best Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy and Best HR Initiative. Similarly, communications agency Freshwater was honoured as Employer of Choice and for demonstrating the Best Response to Covid-19.
Adra excelled in promoting staff well-being, earning the award for Best Staff Wellbeing Strategy. In partnership with Grŵp Cynefin, Adra also won the Best Use of the Welsh Language Award, showcasing their commitment to cultural inclusivity.
The awards were launched by Acorn and Darwin Gray, with sponsorship from notable organisations such as Quantum Advisory and Chwarae Teg. The event provided a platform to celebrate the often unrecognised achievements of HR professionals.
