The APSCo Awards for Excellence celebrate significant accomplishments within the recruitment industry, reflecting the high professional standards expected in this sector. APSCo, known for its rigorous assessment processes, offers these awards as a mark of distinction among staffing companies.
Marilyn Davidson, Director of APSCo, emphasised the challenging nature of these awards, noting, “As the only awards in the recruitment sector that require shortlisted businesses to attend a Q&A session, they are without doubt the most onerous, demanding and perhaps most challenging out there.” Judged by representatives from the CIPD, the competition saw many exceptional entries.
Davidson observed a maturation within the recruitment sector, where companies of varied sizes showcased strategic clarity. She stated, “All entrants should feel very proud of their hard work in what can only be described as the most fiercely contested awards to date.” A key theme was the essential need for talent acquisition and retention to support future growth, echoing the findings of the APSCo Deloitte Recruitment Index.
In a remarkable achievement, Sphere Digital Recruitment emerged victorious in the hotly contested category of Recruitment Company of the Year under £5m turnover. Competing against well-established firms such as Hanson Search and Douglas Scott, Sphere’s win was their first award, coming shortly after their third anniversary.
A Sphere spokesperson expressed the team’s excitement, stating, “We couldn’t be more thrilled, after celebrating our 3rd Birthday just 2 weeks previous to this, this is a massive achievement for Sphere to be recognised within the industry among many more established companies. It’s always exciting to win an award and spirits are extremely high throughout the office.”
The awards also recognised several other companies across different categories, including Amoria Bond and NRL, showcasing a wide spectrum of talent and innovation within the industry.
