Aldi has collaborated with Sauce Shop to introduce two distinct festive sauces that promise to redefine traditional holiday condiments.
In a bold move, Aldi has partnered with Sauce Shop to create two unique festive sauces, set to be a talking point this holiday season. Among these is the Brussels Sprout Kimchi Hot Sauce, a daring fusion that reimagines the often-divisive sprout with a Korean-inspired twist. Additionally, they have crafted a Spiced Cranberry Hot Honey sauce, merging the sweetness of honey with the tartness of cranberries and the heat of fermented chillies.
Priced at £3.49 each, these novel sauces will be available from the 28th of November across more than 1,000 Aldi stores in the UK. These releases are part of Aldi’s strategy to offer innovative products that challenge traditional festive fare. Julie Ashfield, Aldi UK’s Managing Director of Buying, remarked on the potential impact of these offerings, suggesting they might convert even the ‘most sprout averse.’
Co-founder of Sauce Shop, Pam Digva, shared insights into the creative process behind these new products. After the success of their Brussels Sprout Ketchup, the decision to expand their festive range seemed natural. Digva explained that the idea originated from a successful home experiment with sprout fermentation. ‘It sounds odd, but it really works,’ she stated.
The Spiced Cranberry Hot Honey, on the other hand, seeks to enhance the classic cranberry sauce with added heat, offering versatility as both a dip and a culinary ingredient. Digva encourages consumers to experiment, suggesting it pairs well with dishes like baked camembert, enhancing traditional festive meals with its distinct flavour profile.
This collaboration between Aldi and Sauce Shop highlights a growing trend towards innovative and daring culinary experiments, promising to intrigue and delight consumers this festive season.
