Aldi has collaborated with Sauce Shop to launch two innovative festive sauces, inviting curiosity and debate among consumers.
The partnership between Aldi and Sauce Shop has resulted in two new sauces that are set to challenge the traditional festive palate. Aldi is introducing a Brussels Sprout Kimchi Hot Sauce, offering a daring twist to the typical holiday sprout. This sauce merges the humble sprout with a Korean-inspired kimchi flavour profile, aiming to intrigue those willing to embrace unconventional tastes.
Alongside this, the collaboration has birthed the Spiced Cranberry Hot Honey sauce. This creation takes inspiration from the established Honey Sriracha Drizzle but infuses it with a festive flavour through the addition of cranberries and the heat of fermented habanero and jalapeño chillies. The result is a sauce that promises to add a bold kick to any festive meal.
Both sauces are priced at £3.49 each, available in over 1,000 Aldi stores starting 28 November. Julie Ashfield, Aldi UK’s managing director of buying, commented on the release, noting the potential divisiveness of the new products. She expressed confidence that the unique flavour of the Brussels Sprout Kimchi Hot Sauce would appeal even to those traditionally opposed to sprouts.
Pam Digva, co-founder of Sauce Shop, shared her excitement about the collaboration. After the success of their Brussels Sprout Ketchup, the team was eager to push the boundaries further. Digva recounted an experimental attempt at home, which led to the creation of the Brussels Sprout Kimchi Hot Sauce. She described the Spiced Cranberry Hot Honey as a versatile addition to festive cuisine, highlighting its suitability as a dip or accompaniment.
The new sauce offerings from Aldi and Sauce Shop represent a daring step into creative festive fare, likely to pique the interest of adventurous food enthusiasts seeking to spice up their seasonal dining experiences.
Aldi and Sauce Shop’s bold new sauces reflect a forward-thinking approach to festive foods, encouraging consumers to explore and enjoy new flavours.
