Amazon has proudly reported a landmark achievement in its recent Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales. The company claims this year’s seasonal event marked its most successful yet, with unprecedented figures recorded over the 12-day span concluding on Cyber Monday. The sale period, which ran from 21 November to 2 December, witnessed outstanding deal offerings that attracted a high volume of customers.
In the United Kingdom, consumer interest was particularly strong in Alexa-enabled devices. Among the most sought-after were the latest models of the Echo Dot and Fire TV Stick 4K. Additionally, items like the Ninja Foodi MAX Dual Zone Air Fryer, Pukka Herbs Advent Calendar, and Oral-B Pro 3 Electric Toothbrush featured prominently among bestsellers.
Amazon’s commitment to sustainability was highlighted as consumers embraced the opportunity to buy through its resale offerings. Noteworthy products included the Russell Hobbs Steam and Clean, Fisher-Price Butterfly Dreams 3-In-1 Projection Mobile, and Xbox Series S. This shift towards refurbished or open-box products not only promotes environmental consciousness but also offers cost-effective choices for consumers.
Independent sellers also experienced remarkable success during this period, with their products making up over 60% of total sales. This reflects a growing trend where consumers are increasingly seeking out unique and varied product options available through Amazon’s platform.
Doug Herrington, CEO of Amazon Stores worldwide, emphasised the importance of customer savings, stating: “We know how much our customers appreciate saving money, and our customers saved billions with us during this year’s holiday shopping event.”
Amazon’s Black Friday and Cyber Monday success underscore its position as a leading e-commerce platform.
