Asda has taken a significant step in diversifying its food selection by introducing a series of new culinary products, catering to shoppers’ preference for home comforts. This development includes an array of woodfired pizzas, Bistro dishes, and Bom Bahia curries.
The retailer’s latest offering features four new premium, hand-stretched, Italian-style woodfired pizzas. These include flavours such as Margherita, Salsiccia Piccante & ‘Nduja, Chicken Arrabiata, and Prosciutto Funghi, each priced at £4.75. Kathryn Saveall, the product development manager, expressed pride in these additions, anticipating that customers will appreciate the authentic taste of restaurant-style pizzas at a more accessible cost. She highlighted her preference, saying, ‘my personal favourite is the prosciutto funghi – the mascarpone & garlic roasted mushrooms are just delicious and go so well with the prosciutto cotto.’
Additionally, Asda has expanded its Bistro meal deal, offering a starter, main, side, and dessert for £10. The new items include Sausage and Buttery Mash, Lamb Hot Pot, Beer Batter Haddock & Mushy Peas, and Slow Cooked Gammon Shanks with a Mustard Glaze, each retailing at £6. For starters, there are new options like Mac & Cheese with Smokey Ketchup and Cod Fish Cakes with Tartare Sauce, while the dessert selection features Chocolate Caramel Profiteroles, individually priced at £4.
In the Bom Bahia range, the supermarket introduces Chicken Tikka Masala, Kashmiri Chicken Korma, Garlic Chicken Balti, and King Prawn Bhuna, all available for £5 each. To complement these mains, sides such as Garlic & Coriander Naan Bread, Lamb Samosas, Onion Bhajis, Chicken Chaat Kachori, and Aloo Tikki Bites have been added.
This initiative by Asda reflects its commitment to providing diverse, high-quality food options that resonate with the culinary preferences of its customers. The new ranges not only enhance the product variety but also offer affordability without compromising on taste.
