Prior to this appointment, Frasers Group, which holds a substantial 27% share in Boohoo, had actively lobbied for Ashley to succeed Lyttle. However, Boohoo’s board emphasised that appointing a new CEO is a crucial decision necessitating diligent consideration and governance.
Finley, who previously led Debenhams as CEO, brings a wealth of experience in digital retail. At JD Sports, where he served as group multi-channel director, he significantly contributed to its ascent as a multi-channel leader and FTSE 100 company.
