In a significant move to support essential workers, Deliveroo has formed a partnership with Blue Light Card to offer free delivery services. This initiative is set to benefit members of the emergency services, NHS, teachers, the social care sector, and armed forces with substantial savings.
Deliveroo, renowned for its quick and efficient delivery service, has become the sole delivery app to collaborate with Blue Light Card. This partnership entails providing cardholders with free Deliveroo Plus Silver membership for the coming year, amounting to over £40 in annual savings.
Under this membership, Blue Light Card holders can enjoy free delivery from a wide range of popular restaurants and retailers, including Nando’s, Wagamama, Pho, Giggling Squid, Kokoro, Gail’s Bakery, Waitrose, Wingstop, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Co-op, and Boots. This offers a significant convenience, especially for those working non-standard hours.
Additionally, members gain access to exclusive offers tailored to their local area all year round and can participate in Deliveroo’s rewards programme. This programme provides an £8 discount on the fourth order if three orders are made at the same place within 30 days.
Caroline Harris, the Vice President of Marketing for Deliveroo UK and Ireland, expressed the company’s pride in rewarding Blue Light members, noting the importance of expressing appreciation for their invaluable contributions. Meanwhile, Blue Light Card COO Andy Collins highlighted the partnership as a ‘game-changer’ for shift workers, facilitating access to meals and essentials round-the-clock.
This strategic alliance not only showcases Deliveroo’s commitment to community support but also acknowledges the continuous efforts of essential workers across the nation. By facilitating easier access to essential goods and services, Deliveroo is contributing positively to the wellbeing of those who serve on the front lines.
