In a significant move to support essential workers, Deliveroo has partnered with Blue Light Card to provide free delivery services to NHS workers, teachers, armed forces, and others.
Deliveroo, in collaboration with Blue Light Card, has announced an initiative to offer free delivery to essential workers in recognition of their crucial roles. This partnership makes Deliveroo the exclusive delivery app to join forces with Blue Light Card, creating a unique benefit for its members.
The partnership provides Blue Light Card holders with a complimentary Deliveroo Plus Silver membership for a duration of 12 months. This membership, typically costing over £40 annually, allows members to receive free deliveries from a wide range of restaurants, grocers, and retailers, including popular names like Nando’s, Wagamama, and Waitrose, among others.
Alongside free delivery, members will have access to exclusive offers tailored to their locality throughout the year. Additionally, through Deliveroo’s rewards programme, members who place three orders from the same location within 30 days will enjoy a discount of £8 on their fourth order.
Caroline Harris, Vice President of Marketing for Deliveroo UK and Ireland, expressed pride in this initiative, stating, ‘We’re proud to reward Blue Light members with free delivery when they order from their favourite neighbourhood restaurants, grocers, and retailers, as well as exclusive members-only discounts.’
Meanwhile, Andy Collins, Chief Operating Officer of Blue Light Card, highlighted the transformative impact of this partnership, noting, ‘For many shift workers, being able to get their favourite meals or essentials delivered round-the-clock is a game-changer, so this unique partnership with Deliveroo is another way for us to show our hardworking and dedicated community that we’re there for them 24/7.’
This partnership between Deliveroo and Blue Light Card not only provides economic benefits to essential workers but also demonstrates a meaningful gesture of gratitude towards those who contribute tirelessly to society.
