Aldi customers can now secure their Too Good To Go bags ahead of time this festive season, thanks to enhanced reservation options.
In a strategic move to enhance customer convenience, Aldi has advanced the reservation availability of its ‘Too Good To Go’ surprise bags for the festive season. Through the Too Good To Go app, shoppers can now reserve these bags up to five days in advance. This initiative allows customers to order bags for collection on Christmas Eve from 19 December and those for New Year’s Eve from 27 December.
Each surprise bag is priced at £3.30, offering a minimum of £10 worth of food that is nearing its sell-by or use-by date. This effort not only makes affordable food more accessible but also contributes to reducing food waste, a significant step during the festive period when waste tends to be higher.
Luke Emery, Aldi’s national sustainability director, commented, “We’re making our Too Good To Go bags even more accessible this Christmas and New Year.” By enabling earlier reservations, Aldi aims to offer more shoppers the opportunity to purchase items that support both their budgets and the environment.
Sophie Trueman, the country director for Too Good To Go, expressed her enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “We’re delighted to help Aldi and its customers save even more food from going to waste across this seasonal period.” She highlighted the dual benefit of securing value-for-money products while positively impacting the planet.
In addition to their partnership with Too Good To Go, Aldi has also joined forces with food redistribution platform Neighbourly. This initiative is projected to donate over one million meals to local charities and foodbanks throughout the UK over the festive period, highlighting Aldi’s commitment to tackling food waste and supporting communities.
Aldi’s proactive measures this festive season highlight its commitment to sustainability and community support, providing both economic and environmental benefits to its customers.
