Fenwick’s Newcastle flagship store has unveiled a distinctive pop-up café in collaboration with British heritage brand Barbour, aimed at providing a memorable culinary experience for its visitors. This venture is part of the celebrations marking the 30th anniversary of Barbour’s well-loved Liddesdale Quilted Jacket.
Running from 4 October through to Christmas, the café introduces a menu that draws inspiration from the quilting design synonymous with Barbour jackets. The toasties served are cleverly designed to mimic the quilted pattern, offering both visual appeal and gastronomic delight. Additionally, tea pots are paired with charming quilted cosies, maintaining the theme.
The unique menu is the result of a collaboration with local businesses, crafted under the expertise of Fenwick’s renowned restaurant team. This initiative not only highlights local talent but also adds an exclusive twist to the shopping experience at Fenwick’s.
Leo Fenwick, strategic partnerships director, expressed enthusiasm for the project, stating, “We are constantly looking for new and exciting ways to enhance customer experience and this partnership with Barbour, in celebration of the anniversary of one of their most celebrated pieces, allows us to offer something truly unique which we know our customers will enjoy.”
Paul Wilkinson, commercial director of Barbour Group, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the shared values and regional pride inherent in both brands. “Both Fenwick and Barbour are proud family-owned businesses which are synonymous with the North East, with a rich history and strong relationship. The pop-up, brought to life by Fenwick’s expert restaurant team, provides an exciting one-off experience for customers,” he remarked.
This is not the first collaboration between the two brands. Previously, they joined forces to create an outdoorwear collection to commemorate Fenwick’s 140-year legacy. Such initiatives underline their commitment to crafting meaningful and memorable experiences for customers.
This partnership between Fenwick and Barbour epitomises a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation, offering a unique experience during the festive season.
